Connect Square

Square connects per brand with a single click. Unlike every other processor, there are no API keys to copy and no webhook to register — you authorize DisputeDash with Square using OAuth, and everything after that is automatic.

  • A Square account (the seller whose disputes you want to fight).
  • Admin access to the brand in DisputeDash.

That’s it — no keys, no secrets.

  1. Go to Brands → Connections for the brand (or the Square card on the Integrations page).
  2. Click Connect Square.
  3. You’re sent to Square to authorize DisputeDash. Review the permissions — view and respond to disputes, and read your payments, orders, and merchant profile — and click Allow.
  4. You’re returned to DisputeDash with Square connected. The brand now shows its Square merchant account ID.

Once connected, DisputeDash receives Square disputes in real time — there’s nothing for you to register. When a dispute opens:

  1. DisputeDash creates the case and maps the Square reason to a dispute category.
  2. Evidence is gathered from your connected stack.
  3. The evidence is submitted straight to Square through the Disputes API before the deadline.
  4. When Square resolves the dispute, the case updates to Won or Lost automatically.

DisputeDash maps every Square dispute reason to the right evidence set:

Square reason Handled as
NO_KNOWLEDGE Not recognized / fraud
NOT_RECEIVED Item not received
NOT_AS_DESCRIBED Product unsatisfactory
DUPLICATE Duplicate
AMOUNT_DIFFERS Incorrect amount
PAID_BY_OTHER_MEANS Duplicate
CUSTOMER_REQUESTS_CREDIT Credit not processed
CANCELLED Cancelled subscription
EMV_LIABILITY_SHIFT Fraud
  • Per brand. Connect a separate Square account to each brand — one DisputeDash workspace can hold many.
  • Nothing to manage. No API keys, no webhook registration, no signing secret — DisputeDash manages the Square application and webhook for you at the platform level.
  • Tokens refresh automatically. Square access tokens expire periodically; DisputeDash refreshes them for you, so the connection keeps working without you re-authorizing.
  • Reconnecting. Running Connect Square again for a brand simply refreshes its authorization.
