Fixing a payment issue
If a subscription payment fails, DisputeDash pauses automated dispute-fighting until the payment is sorted out. This protects you from racking up charges (including overages) on a card that isn’t working — but it does mean new disputes won’t be fought while your account is past due, so it’s worth fixing quickly.
What you’ll see
Section titled “What you’ll see”When a payment fails, Settings → Billing turns red with a message such as “Payment past due” or “Payment failed — update your card,” and notes that dispute processing is paused until it’s resolved. Admins also receive a one-time payment issue notification. The admin merchant view shows the same status.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”- Go to Settings → Billing.
- Select Open billing portal.
- Update or replace your payment method with a working card.
- Stripe retries the payment. Once it succeeds, your account reactivates automatically and dispute-fighting resumes.
If there’s an outstanding invoice, you may also see a link to complete your billing setup — pay it there to reactivate.
While you’re paused
Section titled “While you’re paused”- Disputes still arrive and appear in your analytics; they just aren’t fought until payment is restored.
- Fixing the payment method promptly means the fewest disputes go unfought.
