Connect Klarna
Klarna connects per brand. You create API credentials in your Klarna Merchant Portal and paste them into DisputeDash. After that, new disputes flow in automatically and are fought for you.
What you’ll need
Section titled “What you’ll need”From your Klarna Merchant Portal (Settings → API credentials):
- API username — a UUID shown when you create the credential.
- API password — the secret paired with that username.
- Your region (Europe, North America, or Oceania) and environment (Playground for testing, Production for live). Playground and Production credentials are separate.
And admin access to the brand in DisputeDash.
Connect the brand
Section titled “Connect the brand”- Go to Brands → Connections for the brand (or the Klarna card on the Integrations page).
- Add a Klarna account and paste your API username and API password.
- Choose the region your Klarna account belongs to and the environment (Playground or Production).
- Save, then use Test connection to confirm the credentials reach Klarna.
How disputes flow in
Section titled “How disputes flow in”Klarna disputes are pulled on a schedule using your API credentials — there’s nothing to configure beyond connecting the account. When a dispute appears:
- DisputeDash reads the reason and maps it to a dispute category, then creates the case.
- Evidence is gathered from your connected stack.
- The documents are uploaded to the dispute as attachments and your response is submitted through the Klarna Disputes API before the deadline.
- When Klarna resolves the dispute, the case updates to Won or Lost automatically.
You can also trigger an immediate pull with the Sync now button on the Klarna connection, and a real-time push URL is available if your Klarna account has push notifications enabled (see the webhook URL reference).
Klarna dispute reasons
Section titled “Klarna dispute reasons”DisputeDash maps every Klarna dispute reason to the right evidence set:

|---|---|
| Goods not received | Item not received |
| Faulty / not as described | Product unsatisfactory |
| Refund not processed | Credit not processed |
| Unauthorized purchase | Fraud |
| Not recognized | Not recognized |
| Duplicate charge | Duplicate |
| Incorrect amount | Incorrect amount |
| Subscription canceled | Cancelled subscription |
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Per brand. Connect a separate Klarna account to each brand — one DisputeDash workspace can hold many. Each brand’s disputes are pulled with that brand’s own credentials.
- Playground vs Production. Pick the environment that matches your credentials. Playground credentials only work against Klarna’s test environment, and Production credentials only against live — they aren’t interchangeable.
- Nothing to re-enter. Editing a Klarna account lets you update one field without re-typing the other — leave a field blank to keep its current value.
- BNPL, fully automated. Klarna Buy Now, Pay Later disputes are gathered, built, and submitted for you — no manual uploads in the Klarna portal.
